Description

My artistic practice is influenced by personal experiences through creative approaches, and my life in Nanjing has also impacted on my work. When I feel unsure about what to do in my personal life or academics, I often spend time exploring the city, especially by taking walks or cycling along the river. And also during the COVID-19 pandemic, we can't go anywhere, just around our collage ,During these journeys, I experience the elegance of Chinese culture. While wandering along the river, I observe the delightful play of light as it reflects and refracts in the water. Rivers around the world are similar, much like people across the globe, even though they are separated by borders. This river reminds me of my hometown in eastern India, where the river passes through my village.During childhood, having nothing to do anything then I often go to the riverside and spend time by myself. Everyone feels a unique closeness to the place they were born, no matter where they grow up; it’s a universal truth. There exists an inseparable spiritual bond with these familiar places and memories.

Visual areas -

In this project series, I entwine my works with the reflective depths and rhythmic undulations of water, blending the ephemeral with the enduring. Certain pieces explore the vast expanse of the ocean, invoking an almost boundless sense of space, while others capture the delicate dance of light and shadow across its surface. These works, arranged in expansive panels, form a cohesive sequence: a trio in muted gray and a series of seven in blues, whites, and pinks. Each hue resonates with themes of memory and metaphor, evoking the subtle layers of human experience. The compositions vary in size, intentionally shifting to achieve visual balance, with larger pieces conveying grandeur and intimacy, and smaller ones offering intricate details that invite close contemplation. Through these subtle size modulations, I invite viewers to experience the ebb and flow of emotion within this textured and immersive narrative.
