I was born and raised in West Bengal, India, and my work primarily revolves around painting and installation-based projects. In the 21st century, the contemporary art world has become much more multifaceted, especially in how artists use their concepts and processes to convey their individuality through their works. Throughout my bachelor’s, master’s, and ongoing practice, I have continued to explore these aspects. I am currently based in Shanghai, China.

Materials are often associated with consumer needs and lifestyles, but my work engages with their fundamental qualities. My engagement with space emerges through three-dimensional forms. For me, works that exist in the round feel more alive than two-dimensional surfaces, as they allow multiple perspectives and shifting relationships with space. The combination of spatial forms with material-based processes challenges me and allows for greater freedom of expression.

I work with natural pigments and organic colours that are non-toxic, biodegradable, and capable of producing vivid, long-lasting surfaces. This eco-friendly process allows me to examine material, nature, and form with care and intention. I consider challenge essential to my practice, approaching each difficulty as a means to reflect on broader social conditions and collective development.
